This WWII German Condor Legion Black Wound Badge<\/strong> is a rare and highly sought-after example of the award originally instituted on May 22, 1939<\/strong>, to honor German personnel wounded while serving in the Condor Legion<\/strong> during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939)<\/strong>. The Condor Legion was a unit composed of Luftwaffe and Wehrmacht volunteers who supported General Francisco Franco\u2019s Nationalist forces, providing crucial air and ground assistance. The experience gained in Spain would later influence Germany\u2019s military strategies in World War II.<\/p>\n

The design features a distinctive M16-style German helmet, embossed with a swastika<\/strong>, positioned above two crossed swords<\/strong>\u2014a symbol of military sacrifice and valor.
